JUCO Is Coming!!

Local businesses prepare for approximately 2000 visitors.

It is an honor to be chosen as the site for the annual Junior College State Basketball Championship. The tournament also represents a significant economic boon to the community with sixteen teams and their supporters bringing some 2000 visitors who spend an estimated $250,000 during the event. This year’s tournament will be held in Marianna at Chipola College on March 4-7. This will be the fourteenth consecutive year Chipola has hosted the men’s state finals and the thirteenth consecutive year they have hosted the men’s and women’s tournaments.
Chipola has become a dominant factor in Florida and National Junior College Basketball. The prestige and positive impact this has on our community is very significant. We can all be proud we are given the opportunity to host this event and to demonstrate our communities hospitality to the hundreds of visitors who will soon be here. Waste Management is official host sponsor for the event. Other sponsors include: the Florida Lottery, Florida Credit Union League, Community South Credit Union, Focus Credit Union, Jackson County Teachers Credit Union, Tyndall Federal Credit Union and United Solutions.
