Roy Bennett Replaces Harold Donaldson As CEO of First Capital Bank

First Capital Bank Names Roy Bennett President and CEO
Roy Bennett has been selected to serve as President and CEO of First Capital Bank.
Bennett will oversee the bank’s day-to-day operations and will be responsible for developing and implementing long-term strategic goals for the bank.
Bennett, 54, has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry, with more than 20 of those years in executive leadership positions. His experience includes credit management, commercial banking and retail banking.
His was recently President and CEO of First Milton Bank in Alpharetta, Ga.
“In our search for a new CEO, the First Capital Bank Board of Directors was looking for someone with confidence, tenacity and insight,” said Bob Pforte, chairman of the board and a founding director of the bank. “In Roy, we found all those things and much more. He has a proven track record and an outstanding reputation as a sound, sensible and successful banker.
“With his experience and expertise, he will provide vision and leadership to First Capital Bank in these challenging economic times.”
Bennett replaces Harold Donaldson, who recently retired after four decades as a banker in Marianna. Donaldson had been CEO of First Capital Bank since July 2006.
“I don’t think we could have reached the level of growth we’ve reached without Harold’s commitment and guidance,” Pforte said. “His forty years of banking experience has been a blessing.”
Prior to his post at First Milton Bank, Bennett was senior vice president and market president at Regions Financial Corporation in Spartanburg, S.C. He has held numerous executive leadership positions at banks in Georgia, including CEO of Bank of Spalding County in Griffin, Ga., and executive vice president and market president at BankSouth/Nationsbank in Gainesville, Ga.
A native of Forsyth, Ga., Bennett is a graduate of Georgia State University with a B.S. degree in finance. He is married to Kathie Clemons Bennett, who grew up in Panama City. They have two daughters, Katherine, 23, a graduate of College of Charleston, and Mary Scott, 20, who will begin her sophomore year at Clemson University in the fall.
