Marianna Day Festival Weekend Will Soon Be Here

September 25-26 are dates for music, festival fun, parade, Monument Memorial Ceremony, and Reenactment of the Battle of Marianna
Main Street Marianna, The Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department, and local Civil War Descendents organizations are busy with final arrangements for this big fall event in Jackson County. This unique event will offer an enticing blend of historical reenactment, and learning of our local heritage, in the downtown Marianna area where the battle was actually fought. This is combined with a full slate of activities at Citizens Lodge and Park where arts and crafts, vendors, a civil war living history exhibit, cannonades, and a full day and evening of entertaining Bluegrass Music provided by numerous bands.
You will begin to see promotions of this event on many local television and radio shows. A sixteen page program has been prepared for this event. It is available at the Jackson County Chamber, the State Line Welcome Center, and numerous other locations in the area. Mark your calendar and set time aside to participate in this exciting weekend of activities.

    9:00 am-Confederate Monument downtown Marianna
    10:00 am-Parade Downtown Hwy 90 with reenactment following at approximately 11:00 am starting at the corner of Russ St and Hwy 90 Which is on parade route
    1:00-9:00 pm-At Citizens Lodge which is on Caverns Road Marianna- Blue Grass Festival, and Arts and Crafts
    3:00 pm- Civil War Reenactment at Citizens Lodge, artillelry, infantry, and calvary
