Farmers of Jackson County…. We Appreciate All You Do!

November is our “Agriculture Appreciation Month”

During this week and next the Jackson County Times will be featuring the wonderful farming community which helps Jackson County healthy, and well fed. The papers produced during both weeks will be filled with feature stories about farm families, farming operations in Jackson County, and other relative farm news. Be sure to spend some time reading our “Farm Feature Pages”, A2 and A3.

On Friday morning, November 13, at the Jackson County Chamber’s “First Friday Breakfast” the annual “Farm – City Day Awards Presentations will take place. This is the 36th consecutive year the Chamber of Commerce has hosted this program of recognition and appreciation for the county’s farming community.

The First Friday Breakfast this month will appropriately be sponsored by Farm Credit. The awards Emcee will be County Extension Director, Doug Mayo. The annual Ed Jowers Farm City Day Chipola Scholarship will be presented at the meeting by Ed Jowers, retired Extension Director.

The highlight of the breakfast will be recognition of the “Outstanding Farm Family Award”, a special story on this family is shown as a feature on page A2 of this issue.
