February Tea Party Meeting to Feature Debate
House District 7 candidate David Pleat and Rep. Marti Coley will discuss their positions and hold a question-and-answer session during a debate which is slated to begin at 6 p.m. on Monday evening Feb. 15, at 6:00 PM in Marianna. The debate will be held at the Jackson County Agricultural Center, located at 3631 Highway 90 in Marianna. Mr. Pleat and Mrs. Coley were invited to attend by members of the Jackson County Tea Party, which is hosting the event.
The evening will start with a 10-minute opening statement made by each candidate, after which members of the audience are invited to ask questions of both candidates. There also will be opportunities for one-on-one, informal mingling. Up to 400 people are expected to attend.
Mr. Pleat, 50, is running for the Florida House District 7 seat, which has been held unopposed since 2005 by Rep. Marti Coley. Their debate will kick off the 2010 campaign events in Jackson County.
