On January 19, 2009, at 4:09am, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office received a call from the Graceville Vocational Youth Center, which is a minimum security facility located at 5229 Ezell Street in Graceville, Florida. Staff members reported a juvenile offender had escaped from their custody. The juvenile had gotten permission to use the restroom and while doing so, excaped from the facility. The K-9 team from Jackson Correctional Institution was called to immediately start searching for the escapee. The K-9 team was unsuccessful in locating a track.
During the course of the initial investigation, it was learned the escapee, might have been picked up by an unknown person or persons from the facility. He is described as a Hispanic male, 6'1" tall, weighing 210 pounds, with short brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, blue pajama pants, and orange shower shoes.
If anyone has information concerning this excaped juvenile prisoner they are encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agency.
