Marianna Is Now Significantly Larger

442 Acre Annexation is Completed at Meeting
By Sid Riley
At Tuesdays regular meeting of the Marianna City Commission, the second reading was made of the proposed annexation ordinance for the 442 acre tract which begins north of Marianna at the Chipola River and reaches northward to encompass the Caverns Golf Course and the Caverns State Park. After the reading, the Commission unanimously approved the measure.
Ultimately, the goal of the City is to annex a tract of land which reaches contiguously from the existing City limits to the Industrial Airpark and Marianna Airport. This significant addition is a major step in that direction.
