City Commission approves new name
At Tuesday evenings regular meeting of the Marianna City Commission, the Commissioners approved the suggested name, “Madison Street Park” for the new downtown park which is under construction. The existing Farmers Market pavilion which is located in front of the old jail facility will be relocated to this new park. Also, a concert stage will be constructed, sidewalks, picnic tables, benches, and landscaping.
This area will become an integral part of many future events planned by Main Street Marianna for the enjoyment of area citizens, and the benefit of local merchants.
