In preparation for the Military Ball that will be held during Marianna Days on September 25th, the Children’s Legacy Committee demonstrated 1860’s style dancing on Saturday, September 11, 2010. The dance lesson consisted of four popular dances from the 1860’s to prepare the people of Jackson County for their upcoming ball.
A little about the Children’s Legacy Committee: This is an independent group of children that attended the Sam Davis Youth Camp in July and loved it so much that they decided they wanted to go back... so they have started teaching and having fund raising events to raise money to send themselves back next year. The children will be working with Mr. Royce Reagan this Tuesday and doing a TV interview with him about Sam Davis Youth Camp and their activities, including helping teach these dances.
A special “thank you” from the Children’s Legacy Committee to all that helped with arrangement of this event. A fun time was had by one and all.
