The final event of the 2010 March of Dimes Fund Raising Drive got off to a running start on Saturday morning with a well attended 5K run which began at 8:00 AM at Citizens Lodge Park. Around 50 enthusiastic runners took part in the event.
Even “Mr. Peanut” was there in costume to demonstrate the support of the area Peanut Growers for the March of Dimes effort. Also strolling around the registration table was Maliyah Pollock, the 2010 March of Dimes Ambassador. According to Maliyah’s mother, Zatoya, the baby was delivered at six months of the term of pregnancy, and weighed only 1lb. 5 oz.. She is a healthy, happy baby today.
