Pennies For Pencils Program Donates $1666.00 To All County Elementary Schools

On Wednesday morning at the scheduled Principals Meeting, Sid Riley of the Jackson County Times presented checks to every elementary school principal within the county school system. The checks totaled $1666.00. These funds were created through $1000 in sponsorships provided by area businesses, $160.00 donated by the Marianna Rotary Club, and over $500 donated by local citizens as they dropped their change into canisters at retail establishments throughout the county.
