In an apparent effort to mend torn fences with their customer base in Jackson County, Florida Public Utilities held a press conference in their offices in Marianna on Monday afternoon. The event also gave the public their first opportunity to meet the new President of FPU, Jeff Householder.
The company announced that because of a 3% decrease in the price FPU pays Gulf Power for electricity, they have filed for a rate decrease with the Public Service Commission which would pass this small savings on to customers. For the average home it would amount to about a $4.00 per month savings on their bill.
