—The End of an Era—Circle D Western Shop to close after 47 years

“Forty seven years is enough,” Matt Dryden said Tuesday as he explained why Circle D Western Shop is closing. It’s not because of financial reasons, he said. “The market is still good,” he said. “I’m just ready to do something else.”Dryden, 74, has run the store with the help of son Matt Jr. since the death of his step-dad, George Eastman Dryden, in 2002 and mother Ruth in 2008. George, an heir of the Eastman (Kodak film) family, and Ruth had operated the business soon after it was opened in 1964.
