“County Rules Are Hurting My Business”


At Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Jackson County Commission a local business owner pled with the Commission to consider altering the existing county ordinances which govern operating hours of businesses where beer is sold and consumed. The business owner, Mrs. Aretha Brooks, who operates Midget’s Lounge on Fairview Road near Marianna complained that since the City of Marianna has relaxed its ordinances on alcohol sales and consumption, her business is operating at a disadvantage, and is losing revenues.
