Crossroads Plaza To Get Boost from Tractor Supply Farm Store

“Tractor Supply Company is the largest retail farm and ranch store chain in the United States,” says the company literature. “Whether you’re a homeowner caring for a backyard or a farmer with a back 40, we have the products and services to help you get the job done!”
And Tractor Supply is coming to Marianna. According to District Manager Scott Daughtery in Dothan, who spoke with the TIMES on Monday. The company has leased 20,000 square feet in the old Wal-Mart building at The Crossroads Shopping Center on the corner of U.S. 90 and S.R. 71. The store is planned to be open in about six months. Tractor Supply isn’t a parts store. And its inventory, while extensive, doesn’t offer a lot that is not available at nearby Altha Farmers Cooperative, Tatum’s or Beauchamp’s Hardware, to name a few local family-owned stores. But, like the Wal-Mart operation which previously filled the space at The Crossroads, the company--and its customers--may benefit from high-volume sales marketed through the corporate chain network. An outlet was opened in Chipley a few years ago near the Wal-Mart Supercenter there. Ben Wilson manages the Chipley store.
