“I Plead Not Guilty!”

Lincoln enters plea of not guilty at arraignment for Ford murder. Twenty-one year old John Wayne Lincoln of Malone, accompanied by his court-appointed Public Defender, Herman Laramore, entered a plea of “not guilty” Tuesday to first degree murder for the Nov. 27 killing of Vivian Ford in her Greenwood home. Lincoln has reportedly confessed to the murder, but the not guilty plea is necessary for due process. He could change that plea at any time in the future. Lincoln faces the death penalty, since the state claims the murder was premeditated and done in the course of the commission of other felonies, which in this case are burglary and robbery with a weapon.
