Meet Wesley Kutchey

Wesley Kutchey was born in Marianna forty-four years ago, and has lived in the Cypress area all of his life. His stepfather is Kenneth Dykes of Grand Ridge. Wesley graduated from Grand Ridge High School in the class of 1983. He served a tour in the U.S. Army, spending most of that time at Fort Hood, Texas.
He returned home and began working. He also attended Lively Vocational School in Tallahassee two nights a week for two years to obtain his plumbers certification. He then worked several years at the Malone State Prison as a Plumbing Instructor. Finally he went into business for himself, and has owned and operated a drywall business for many years.
Fifteen years ago he married Melynda Eubanks of Sneads, and they have one child. Wesley also has two other children by a previous marriage, giving him credit for three children and two grand children.
When asked why he is seeking the seat for the Commissioner of District 4, Wesley responded, “I am running because I was repeatedly urged to do so by many of my friends. I want to help save the taxpayers of Jackson County money which I feel is currently being wasted. Also, I have several alternate approaches for resolving the space problem, which would save the millions they want to spend on a new Admin building. I think we need fresh thinking from people who will move away from the old ways of doing business for the County.”
